    Default Watch you wear daily

RE: Watch you wear regularly that you don't worry about getting damaged(figuratively)

People are always posting photos of really nice high end watches, or
beautiful gold watch cases and new acquisitions, watches that their great grandfather owned ect.
I would like to see what people use as their daily
wear watch. One that sometimes gets bumped around in your pocket, and you are using it as a
watch (that you count on) on a dally basis.

I have a 1903 18s Elgin 17j in a mismatched Oresliver case that has hairlines in the dial.
I have regulated it to be very accurate and I use it as a daily wear
    watch.

I use a Waltham half hunter that I rescued a few years ago. It needed loads doing to it, case springs, new dial, mainspring etc but I got it fixed and regulated and now use it regulaly and it never lets me down and is super accurate.

My favorite daily carry is a 19-jewel Bunn that I bought as a movement and cased in a display case.

Generally, these days it's one of these guys:

Though, I confess, it's most often the 478, because I just got it back from service (it had a cracked jewel) and I replaced the bent case I got it in with the same model case in excellent condition!

Any of these... although any 14s-16s that can readily be repaired or replaced will do, if it happens to be the first one to jump into my hand.

Very nice. One of them must "jump into your hand" as you say first?

Do you leave the tags on?

I don't shy away from wearing a nice watch, but I do take care of it. My daily watch these days is a slim Waltham Colonial-A Riverside in a plain-polished gold case. I always wear pants with a watch pocket (or else I don't carry a watch), the pocket never has anything besides the watch in it and I keep it on a secure chain. I do select a watch for daily wear that is easily repairable in case the worst happens.

Mine is a Elgin 18s 11j 1889 Model 5 that I just acquired. It's also my only 18s. It's running about 20 seconds slow/day. I'll see how well it runs after I service it. First I'll have to practice on a Waltham 16s 15j 1897 Model 1888 movement that I bought. It should be here in a day or so.
I also just acquired this cute little Elgin 3/0 7j 1920 Model 2. It runs but I'm not going to run it much till after I service it. I wound it up a little for the photos.

Sorry for the cross post (whole story here: http://mb.nawcc.org/showthread.php?1...ouple-new-16-s), but these are now in the active use rotation as of today. 1919 Hamilton 974 and 1916 pendant-set Hampden Wm McKinley model 5, both size 16.

I live at a distance of 5,000 miles away from New York but an american pocket watch is carried in my pocket every day. This Bunn Special is with me in the last months.
