Many people like my page, i have 500 members, which by FB standards for many groups is a small group. Yes the topic is horology and on ocassion the topic may go off to other things, people treat others with respect and learn from others, its a great place to share. I find the atmosphere less stuffy on my page.
Overall i like having the page and helping others. For me i learn a fair bit on this web site but as said by a few its usually the same people posting here.

I have found your group and dipped my toe in the water with one of my own for brass dial lovers

But to be fair, it's likely the same people posting on your page too, Kevin

Not always Shutt. I know some join to ask one question and then likely won,t ask again. I know one thing for sure though. When i post there i do get more replies to my postings than i do here on the NAWCC web site. I find that interesting.
More NAWCC Chapters have a page too now on Facebook.

Some people have a need to want to be liked.

Some others have no care but try to like everyone.
the latter don't need facebook but have more friends.

Networking is about making contacts and the more you make the more useful it becomes, in that facebook can be as useful as joining a forum like NAWCC or joining an organisation like the BHI and attending meetings.

Through networking I've refined my collecting, found contacts for parts, clocks, people who have specialist skills for repairs of both clocks and cases.

As I've become more sedentary through health problems I've found facebook in particular has been a very useful way to stay in touch with friends I made when I was still travelling and far more active.
Nick, lots to learn, late starter.

    Hi Peter,

I have been following this thread.

However as a Canadian, I am not familiar with the term "godbothering" . Is that some sort of Australian expression that I am not familiar with?
