    Default 1820s Benjamin Swan Clock

Shelf Clock, c. 1820, Benjamin Swan. Mahagony case-on-case shelf clock. The feet, inner stiles, and top fret-work are replacements; kidney-shaped painted dial signed "Benjn Swan, Augusta" The signature is overpainted, remmants of the original signature are visible. The name "Swan" painted in white paint on the back of the dial appears to be original. Brass, time only banjo style 8-day movement, anchor escapement, weight driven.
