    Default Aaron Willard Shelf Clock

Shelf Clock, c. 1810, Aaron Willard. This Aaron Willard shelf clock with two reverse painted-on-glass doors, pediment top with brass urn finial has a round, concave dial with roman numerals. The glass in the upper door is reverse painted with florals and a lyre in each corner. The glass reads "Aaron Willard Boston” in a cartouche in the lower center portion of the door. The lower door is reverse painted with a scene depicting two cows, two sheep, a dog and a man and woman framed in a floral border. This clock was owned by Barclay Stephens and was gifted to the National Watch & Clock Museum by the California Academy of Sciences in 2013.
