Default Howard series IV Key wind Found

In 2012 my my previous wife had passed and many folks had come to visit and help. Which meant, many helpful folks cleaning the home until I got on my feet. Needless to say, this series IV was not in the display case at the time and it went missing.

I have since remarried and the other day, while going through our China cabinet found the watch in a wooden box with small collectibles stacked on top. Needless to say, I'm thankful to have this old key wind back, (sn390xx). Keith

I'm happy to say this watch has been cleaned and the one brown stain has been removed from the balance cock. It's being timed
today and should be able to bring it home tomorrow. This is my first Nickel Howard KW, (nothing against gilt mind you). Keith

sorry about your loss and happy about your find , it is like getting it all over again ! , I had a burlington special that had not been touched in 15 yrs [don't ask why] when I pulled it out and played with it the watch seemed better than when I got it !

Thanks, found with it were 4 other freshly serviced watches of which one was my favorite (my English export model 83 KWKS). You're right, it's
like "when first found". KeithClick image for larger version.

Just for the record, having misplaced the watch, finding the watch and loss of a computer hard drive my hand records had indicated series IV
KWKS nickel. However, upon pickup of the watch today and plate inspection the gilt plates stared back at me. So, sorry for the confusion but this series IV KWKS SN#39079 is gilt. It is running and timing well. Keith
