Default Finally Got Curious - Gilbert 1807 Japanese theme clock

I have been looking at this family hand-me-down in the corner of my room for years now, and finally got curious enough to try and identify it. It says Gilbert 1807 below the number 6 on the clock face, and has several Japanese motif pictures drawn on it. It stands about 5 feet tall, and has 3 open compartments, which currently hold various Japanese figurines, and a bottom compartment with a door. I haven't see another one like it during my internet browsing, and would appreciate any information someone might have about it.
