  1. Grandfather's Vostok...

This blog post is about a certain watch, that my grandfather has worn ever since I can remember, and a long time before as well.
He sometimes told the tale how he bought it on his trip to Moscow...
Anyway - this was in 1970s and he must really like this watch, because ever since he got it, he would not wear other watches at all.
Funny - on every family picture, as the years passed by, there always is a golden Vostok on a steel bracelet.
Weird combination no doubt, but my ...

  2. My second Lepine watch... in details

Not long ago I've visited the old castle ruins in Ogrodzieniec. It's not one hour by car from my place, so it's not very close, but not very far. There were times, when I used to go there with my parents quite often, but somehow we just stopped and for many years we forgot about this place.

The castle was erected in 15th Century as one of the so called 'Eagle's nests' - a line of castles protecting ...

  3. An old Swiss watch from Locle - part two

Continuing the subject of Olivier Quartier from Le Locle - I just got in today's mail another watch made by this manufacture.

First - the movement in parts...

One can instantly recognize a Swiss bridge style movement.
I washed the parts and assembled the watch - here goes...

    The ...

  4. A Longines that has not had an easy life...

Today I'm going to show you a very old Longines watch.
Is there anyone there who has never heared of the name Longines?
I thought not... Everyone knows Longines. Even if he's not a watch enthusiast - he knows Longines.
