  1. Chapter 8 nawcc

    A friend in the Boston area recently emailed me. Chapter 8 is in the process of organizing about 40 members to take a bus tour to the June National Convention at York, PA.

    Perhaps other chapters not too far away can do the same thing. The Convention needs all the NAWCC members possible to attend.
  2. Knowing Henry Fried, a giant horologist

    Just about an hour ago, I happened to pick up Henry Fried’s original book on “The Watch Repairer’s Manual.” In my personal view it is the best book ever written for the novice or beginner on how to repair a watch. Written in less than scholarly language with simple understandable explanations and, chock full of drawings describing each step from start to finish, in the art of repairing a timepiece that needs certain work, cleaning or adjustment.

    I met Dave Coatsworth through the Internet, I think on the no longer Chapter 185. I had advertised selling an early Tremont Watch, Dave replied and purchased the timepiece.
