I have two private label dials that I have no idea which movement they fit. 1. 16s with dial feet at 18-38-54. 2. 18s with just dial feet at 12-45. Any idea which movements that these dials fit? Where does one research dials identification?

According to information which has been published in many of the Ehrhardt books, your 16's dial is most likely from a Columbus or South Bend which both have locations of 18.0, 38.0, 54.2.

I believe all of Roy Ehrhardt's publications can be found on his website www.hoapress.com (http://www.hoapress.com)

Generally speakin',a dial with 2 dial feet is a Swiss dial (For a Swiss-made watch.)There are,of course,exceptions...For example,10 size Elgins have 2 dial feet in nearly the same positions as you mentioned, and the 18s model 8 Seth Thomas is close - 13.0 - 45.2
