I am still trying to find out whether this firm made watches and or were watch sellers. I have 2 high grade movemens, which are one number apart. Is this company a start up company for a well known large presently existing firm?

Pritchard has a write up on Favre Perret. Favre added Perret to honor his wife's family. He was wel enough regarded that he was on the jury for the Philadelphia exposition but arrived late. He was one of severasl who beat the drums to get teh Swiss to take American Watch capability seriously.
Nothing on their watches but an implication that this outfit was high grade.

WHO MADE THE MOVEMENT?

The Swiss did not make watches like the American's did. It was more like the English with many small shops contributing to the final product.
I believe Favre Perret was a maker in the sense of any other Swiss maker. The did the final assembly, did the adjustment, provided the warranties and marketed the movements.
