I have a pocket watch that belonged to my great-grandfather that I am trying to get some information on.

The movement has the following markings:
Illinois Springfield Watch Co.
19 Jewels
Adjusted 3 Positions

Thanks in advance for any additional info that you can provide...

Welcome to the NAWCC Message Board!

Meggers & Ehrhardt in their Illinois "blue book" list that as a 16-size, open-faced 9th model, lever set, grade 706 watch with 19 jewels, made in 1921. Adjusted for temperature and 3 or 4 positions and isochronism, double roller, jewels in raised settings, rounded train wheel spokes, polished gold top centre wheel, patent regulator, damasked nickel finish with narrow stripe, black filled engraving, gilded oval-headed plate screws, double sunk glass enamel dial. This was a good quality watch, but would not likely have achieved railroad approval which required 5 or 6 position adjustments.
