I am looking for a dust ring (I think that's the proper term) for a Waltham 1857 KW/KS movement (Home Watch Co). Let me know if anyone has ideas for sources. I'll post on the eMart also.

What serial number of 1857 model are you planning to put a dust ring on? If the watch pre-dates Tremont, it may not have had one originally.

Tom,
The serial is 283K, This might predate the patend on the dust ring, but unfortunately, the case that the watch is housed in seems to need it to fit properly. I hadn't thought about this, but I have another '57 (317K) that came with a dust ring (pat Feb 4 1868). Even though both of these watches were probably produced a year or two prior to that.
Anyone have any thoughts on this? Would this have been something that a watchmaker might have put on a movement when a watch was recased?
