new here, drawn by my love of mechanical watches and the like, thought i would share my small collection

~1917 Elgin gold filled(20 year) - i know the most about this because i can actually open it
Hamilton thin o' matic- 10k bezel, stainless back - all i know about it
Gubelin- face says: chronometer 25 rubies automatic- that's all i know about it
Longines- know absolutely nothing about, other than it's gold of some form
and last but not least- a Primalux, which is nothing to special i am led to believe
also have a armitron skeleton automatic right next to all of these(just outside of the picture) which is pretty neat, not the best time keeper though

i hope to learn more about what i have here, and feed my knowledge and love for watches

Welcome to the board, XanRa

That's quite a variety of watches to start a collection! If you want any information on any of them, start up a new thread for just one watch - the Elgin in the American Pocket Watches Forum, and any of the others in the Wrist Watches Forum. And don't forget to post photos of the movement you're asking about.

I managed to get the Longines open today, there's no way i will be able to open any of the other ones on my own though

i'm just happy they all function smoothly,i hope to get them serviced ASAP though- none of them have ran for the past 20+ years(possibly more). i was amazed they all worked

Nice collection, all good watches, that is how this addiction starts out, a little at a time. Have fun and ask questions.
