What was the relation between Paul Ditisheim and the Depolier Watch Company. I found no mention of this in Pritchard (Depolier watches say New York, so they did not qualify as a Swiss Timepiece maker).
There is also no mention of them in the New Von OsterHausen book.
My quick search shows them to have been a retail Jeweler. However, the Ditisheim Depolier watches I have seen look a lot different from those illustrated in the Von Osterhausen book so this was not a simple private label.
That sums up what I have found.

I mis spelled the name; it is Depollier. Doesn't anyone have any info?

Jon,
I have seen the Depollier name on the case of a number of Waltham watches. I had presumed they were a case maker.
I have not seen it marked on the movement of a watch but Ditisheim did get around so there may have been a deal with Depollier of some kind.

Thanks Tom
I have also seen examples of cases so signed. The cases work I saw and some other items on the Web led me to beleive that they were a retailer too.
Neither Pritchard or VOn Osterhausen mentions the connection.
