Seth Thomas Model 5?

I need help identifying a Seth Thomas.
The serial number is 225897.
This is a very nice looking movement.
I have only seen a picture of the watch and do not know how many jewels it has.

The is no existing factory serial number list for Seth Thomas. The closest serial numbers we have in our database, 225839 and 225841, are both 17 jewel movements, lever set, adjusted, with the arch pattern tu-tone damaskeening.

I noted that you have mentioned a Seth Thomas serial number listing. You mention specifically "our" list. Is this a listing that can be accessed on the internet by NAWCC members. I have a number of Seth Thomas movements and watches, but have always had difficulty in finding more info than what is in the price guides. I also have Bailey's book on Seth Thomas. Please let me know if it is possible to access the list you refer to !!!!

The database I referred to is not on line. It is a compendium of watches and their description, by serial number. These are watches that were listed for sale by dealers, watches Kent Singer and I have seen, and data which has been sent to us by other collectors. We have been collecting data on the Seth Thomas Model 5 watches for some time now, eventually, after enough data is obtained, the information we have learned will be presented as part of the Railroaders Corner in the Bulletin. Both Kent and I try to answer individual requests for data, but much of what we have is in raw form, awaiting the the recording of enough data that patterns appear.
