Executive Director's Report and Summary for June 2002
Nancy D. Connelly, Ph.D.

1. Staff changes at Headquarters. James Bland has replaced Sandra Partridge as Marketing Director. Jim has over ten years of marketing experience that has been concentrated in advertising and media relations, marketing research and sales techniques. Administrative Assistant Patti Baughman has resigned effective July 26. Bobbi Minnick, formerly of the Editorial Department, has assumed this position. Lynn Miller has been hired as an Editorial Assistant in the Editorial Department. Lynn comes to us from Lancaster Newspapers, Inc., where she was a reporter. Nancy Dyer, who holds a Master's in Library Science from Drexel University, has a temporary appointment in Library and Research Center as Library Assistant.
2. The Library and Research Center has received an Archives and Records Management Grant for $4,400 from the Pennsylvania Historic and Museum Commission for archival materials to house the Hamilton Collection.
3. Library circulation remains active with 427 items circulated and approximately 150 research questions were answered during the month of June.
4. The Library is now open on Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 5 pm and Friday from 9 am to 4 pm. Usage of the library has increased as a result of this change.
5. Museum attendance, gift shop sales and profits show slight increases over the previous two years.
6. Detailed Color photographs and descriptions of the movements of the clocks in the Pennsylvania Clocks 1750-1850 yearlong exhibit have been added to the exhibit display.
7. A new member packet was tested at the National Convention in Anaheim, CA and will now be distributed to new members on a regular basis.
8. Membership for the month of June fell to 29,913. Stabilization of membership is a priority of the Marketing program.
9. Classes at the School of Horology have close to maximum enrollment.
