Hello,
I have bought a Waltham model 57 with the serial number 737278. It is a model with the hair spring under the balance wheel, and I was quit surpriesed, that it does not fit a 18 size case!?
The main wheel was broken, and I figured out, that it is the same as the model 77, so I changed it. Also the pallet stones are not present any more, and the roler jewel is missing. So I ask myself if I could change the other parts to? I know that the pallet stones are different, but maybe I can change the whole pallet? Does someone know, or even better has original parts?

The golden rule of watch repair is Never Change the Watch to Fit a Part, You Change the Part to Fit the Watch.

We can check parts lists to see what models used the same parts.

What do you mean by "main wheel"? Do you mean the center wheel?

Waltham did have a size 20 key wind. The serial number that you gave says it is a model 57, 18 size, but before we go looking up parts I want to confirm this. Parts exist, it just takes time and homework to find them.

a 57 should fit a standard 18s KW case.

Hello, thanks for your answers,
but what should I say, I´m kind of stupid! The case I tested it has no glas, and I forgott to remove the bezel! So it fits a 18 size! Sorry for the confusion!
Hello Don, yes the main wheel, I did not do anything with the wheel, it is just exact the same. Here is a picture

So if someone would have a part for that old lady I would be happy. The upper balance hole jewel is broken to.

Thanks Peter

Hello again,
I have done some research, and I figured out, that the pallet stones are not brocken, it is just the old "english closed pallett" style.

Does someone have an idea what typ of dials (style)were fitted on that typ of movements?
So all that would miss is a upper balance hole jewel and a roller jewel.

Thanks Peter
