Hello all, I have done something really dumb, I took apart a Waltham 16 size open face Model 1908 7 jewel watch about 4 years ago and have just now been back to finishing it off. I have completly forgotten how the shipper lever and spring need to go. I have spent to much time already trying to fit these pieces back together, lesson learned if you don't plan on getting back to the watch asap then make a little sketch lol. Anyway it's a pendant set, I have a pic I could send it someone wanted to look and make a drawing and send back,or if anyone has one they could take a pic and send it to me I would sure appreciate it.
Thank you

Send me a picture and I will see if I have one and send you one back with the parts together. That is if I have one.

Here is an illustration of the layout of the Waltham shipper, shipper lever and shipper spring as shown in the Chicago School of Watchmaking course (shown with shipper cap in place and removed). The shipper spring may be either as shown or round.

Nice picture Jerry. That should help a lot of
other people as well.

Good day
Thank you so much for the pic..... got to love the internet and this message board, you hit it right on, that's the movement I have. I may be wrong but that is a strange arrangement, I did think at one point because of the little notches that maybe the ends of the spring were to lay at that point but it just didn't add up in my mind.
Thank you again for taking the time for the pic,it was a great help.

Just found this as I am reassembling my own Waltham. It is my first cleaning I am more cautious than my usual "damm the torpedoes, full speed ahead" aproach.
Can anyone tell me the best way to re-install the spring? (I'd hate to slip and have fly half way across the room.)
Also, can anyone tell me what the hole in the cover plate is for.
thanks,
Ron

Sorry all; I believe this is the wrong forum for this. I reposted in the repair forum.
