At the Florida Regional, a fellow NAWCC member recommended that I join the NAWCC Forum. What a wealth of information that's available! I've been a NAWCC member and pocket watch collector for about 25 years, but I'm still an amateur in many ways. In any event after reading some of the postings on "the one that didn't get away", or "great finds", etc., I thought I would share this story. A few years ago, I spotted an Edward Howard box in an antique store window in San Antonio, Texas. Probably shaking, I looked at the watch inside, which was not an Edward Howard but a Benedict Brothers Jewelers (New York) 14k 16s Waltham hunter. I contacted the person who left the box and watch on consignment, but she only remembered that the Waltham (her uncle's) had always been in the box. I bought it and the box anyway! The inside of the box and on the paper are small "stickers" reading Hertzberg Jewelry Company, San Antonio. Could EH # 64 still be out there somewhere?
