my baillies has a edward salop listed 1778 london. i have also heard that washing owned a french lepine watch that is on display in a musueam in pa. i guess being from jersey i think it must be like "washington slept here" (i understand he slept around) sounds like he may have had a few watches as well. there was a henry billingshurst on aldersgate street in london active at least in 1759 whose maker marks are HB. would this perhaps be a fusee watch? ie: one driven by a small chain? the case also may be what is known as a pinchbek case. pinchbek made a metal case that looked like gold but was much less expensive also a london man but not sure when he was active) cetainly sounds like a treasure you have!! enjoy
