Now don't get me wrong, I love my 18s key winds(Walthams, Illinois, Howard, Elgin, Rockford, New York and various other English watches) and carry them from time to time, here is a favorite from 1896 that is a great timer. The watch is about a 14 size but about 5/8" thick.
Although a common watch, high in quality!

A 14s KW is certainly a bit easier to carry than a big old 18s...
Do you have a photo of the movement?

Movement is unsigned Wes but has Reversing Pinion on the plates and sn 143356. Note key wind just under high noon. Case maker TPH for Thomas Peter Hewitt who cased Lacashire movements.
