Hi,
Anybody who knows the correct part number for a Winding Wheel to Waltham mod '92 21J Vanguard? It is supposed to be plain, without damasceening, and I've found two different numbers with this pattern; 1620A and 1620B. Wich one would be correct??

I am assuming that a 21j Vanguard does not have a jeweled main wheel, in which case it takes a #1620 or #1620B winding wheel. The difference is that the 1620B is for a watch with the later recoiling click (different tooth profile). I would guess that a 21j model is early enough to NOT have the recoiling click, hence a #1620 is what you need. The 1620A and 1620C are the comparable wheels for a model with a jeweled main wheel.

I imagine that many of these wheels were available with different damasceening patterns and one would have needed to specify a "Vanguard finish" when ordering.

Thanks Jerry,
The watch has a jewelled barrel (the pallet doesn't have cap jewels). The click is not the recoiling variety. It thus would be safe to guess the 1620A would fit? (Assuming the 1620B fits a recoiling click) SN 15,123,474
