Serial No. 18864241. Similar to EA46 in "American Pocket Watches", except this watch is signed "AWWCo", rather than name in full. There are no other markings.

According to my serial number list, the year is approximately 1913 ? confirmation and any other information will be gratefully received.

Thank you, Gentlemen.

The serial number dates your watch to about 1913, and the Waltham Serial Number and Grade List indicates that it is a 16 size, Model #1908 [named after the first year of production], Grade no. 610, with 7 jewels. My records also indicate that it was designed to fit into a "hunting" case [i.e., it should have a front cover]. If it doesn't have a front cover and the winding stem is at the 3:00 position instead of the 12:00, the watch has probably been recased somewhere along the line.

This would have been a medium-sized, lower grade man's dress watch from the period.

Regards,

Barry

"Thanks Barry!"

As a matter of fact, I checked out your web site first of all; that gave me the date. Thanks for providing the follow-up: full Chapter & Verse, as usual.

Barry, you write:

"This would have been a medium-sized, lower grade man's dress watch from the period."

Speaking as a one-time medium-sized, lower grade man (I know my place!), almost but not quite from the period, your news makes me feel as if I have found a long-lost brother........
