Hello!

I was just curious if there is any pocket watch dials that look like a dartboard?

I love to play darts (Cricket - with points!), and thought it would be neat to see one.

huh?

I guess Sam Kirk could supply you with paper dialed and crystall-less dollar watches to hang and "dart!" :)

Your description of Darts as " Cricket with points" is confusing
The two are completely different
Cricket is an outdoor game with two teams of eleven players usually played in summer
Darts is an indoor game usually played in a local bar and only needs two people and is played any time

Les Harland,
Cricket, in this case, is the name of a dart game. What I meant by "Cricket - with points!" is that there are some who like to play what I call "sissy" darts without points, or who want to play with a rule that if you hit one of the target numbers on your third throw during your turn, you get to go another turn. Worse yet, some like to play where to score points all you have to do is hit any part of the number. Where is the strategy? The best way is to only be able to score points if you hit a double or a triple. That is what I call a real dart game.

Jon,
I'll pass on the paper dialed and crystall-less dollar watches to hang and "dart!". If I feel the urge I can always hang a picture of my brother, who I rightfully and wisely disowned the day I found out he is a murderer!

WOW, talk about off topic...sorry about that.

Kim,

Well, I too love playing a proper game of cricket (and not the kind with bats and funny uniforms!). The only good dart games are the ones where random chance doesn't help you win (like slop in pool)! I'm with you on "real" dart games.

To get back on the horology subject, I'm afraid that any watch dial with a dartboard on it would either be found on a cheap Hong-Kong import, or similar modern watch. I have also seen playing card dials stuck on American movements, but these are also cheap replacements, usually stuck on. Then too, the fact that a dartboard has 20 segments, and they are not in numerical order would make matching it to a watch face challenging. But I like the idea that the hour hand center is the bull, the minute hand center is the double-bull, and the hour hand traces out the triple ring, while the minute hand traces the double ring.

Have fun!

Scott

FYI, New England Watch Co. watches rarely contain genuine porcelain dials (not FAKE) with playing cards!
