Hello All,

Just as the subject line says, will a Waltham size 12 model 1924 fit into a Waltham size 12 model 1894 case?

What type of SWITCH is this?

What type of SWITCH is this?

The kind of switch you make rather than having a perfectly good caseless movement sitting on a shelf waiting for a non-existant case to drop from the sky into your lap.

Its the battlefield expediant kind like using a house key to by pass the low-voltage protection on the engine of an M-60 Tank...

yOU MIGHT consider something closer to the date of the movement--patience, my friend, patience!

I am the most patient person in the world, for at least 20 minutes at a stretch. After that I start looking for alternative solutions.

I swear on my word of honor that should I come across a 1924 case I will acquire it for my 1924 movement. Until that time, as an expedient measure and temporarily measure, will someone please tell me if a 1924 movement will fit in an 1894 case?

I've switched cars, homes, jobs, and wives. We are just talking a case here...

It's like talking to a Rabbi about a Ham Sandwich...

I think a rabbi would be easier to talk to. Just remember, there are more movements out there without cases than there are cases so some have to be switched. Let us remember that a watch is designed to tell time, the passage thereof, and that life is finite so don't get all tangled up with small details unless you have a museum piece. When you die, you DO NOT TAKE YOUR TOYS WITH YOU. Life is too short, enjoy what you can enjoy, save what you can, but don't sweat the small stuff.

It doesn't appear as if anyone has actually answered Lorne's question yet. The answer is -> no <-. A 1924 Colonial movement will not fit a standard 12-size case.
