I am new to this forum but a 12 year collector of watches. I came here mainly in the hopes that my serial number from this watch will do some good to the cataloging and databasing of known examples. Let me say, I've come across some amazing things in the past 12 years (such as a 21j 16s Waltham Crescent Street with wind indicator for $25). Nothing prepared me for my find last month, that being the above a 23J Bunn Special 48hr for a hunting case. My example is cased wrong (as a sidewinder, but I have left it as it is in a very nice Hamilton RR style 10k gold filled case in nice shape), but nonetheless working fine (and I posted a video of it running on youtube, hoping someone would at least enjoy seeing one running). So I came here to provide a pic and post the serial # in hopes that somewhere someone makes use of knowing another of these is out there. Here is serial #3388974.

Thanks for the post. This is a rare watch and I shall include it for the next edition of the chapter 149 CD date base serial number look up for Illinois watches we publish.

Great watch and a nice find. Looks like it needs a good cleaning. It is good to get the old goop out of a watch like this so that it stays nice for a long time. Thanks for showing it to us....show us some more!

Also, you might like to try WEB HOROLOGY.com as there is some heavy research happening there on these very watches.
