According to information in "Waltham Pocket Watch Identification and Price Guide," Roy Ehrhardt, Heart of America Press, Kansas City, MO, 1976 (A new edition is still in print - see Heart of America Press (http://www.hoapress.com)), serial number 23,033,723 is a 16-size, 17-jewel, P.S. Bartlett grade, hunting-case watch (one with a metal cover over the crystal and dial), built in about 1919.

The factory specifications for the P.S. Bartlett, and a picture of the movement, can be seen on Wayne Schlitt's excellent website in the 1917 Oskamp-Nolting Catalog (http://www.midwestcs.com/elgin/pictures/sales_catalogs/1917_Oskamp-Nolting/index.html) on page W4 - Waltham 16s. You might want to let us know if the picture doesn't match your watch (with the exception of the positions of the large and small winding wheels - your hunting-case model should be the reverse of the open-face model shown in the picture).

Regarding value, we're not permitted to discuss it on the message board. However, if you check recent sale on eBay for this size and grade watch, you should get a rough idea
