Hi, I've read that genuine Montgomery dials have the '6' in the subdial where some imitations often don't. This one does but I've never seen one with the inner ring of '13-24' numbers. Is this a genuine dial? Any advice gratefully received.

genuine
Marginal minute dials (those with each minute numbered), Montgomery safety numerical dials and Canadian dials (those with an inner ring of 13-24 hour figures) are discussed in a Wiki article on Pocket Watch Dials. Since Montgomery's dial patent is lost and since there is no documentation showing that Montgomery actually described a dial having its minutes numbered and having an inner ring of 13-24 hour figures, it is not quite correct to refer to the dial you posted as being a Montgomery dial. The proper description of it would be a Canadian marginal minute dial.
That doesn't mean that it is not a genuine Waltham dial. As Jon indicated, it certainly is genuine. What movement is it on?

Thanks Kent, as always info is much appreciated. The dial is on an 1892 845 grade movement, s/n 18106736.

I have the same dial on an 18s 23J Vanguard.
Cheers,
