O.K. so may be the fact that it is an early example with only markings of
Adjusted 21 jewels 940 with a serial number of 298043 is not that unusual.
How about a dial with Hamilton Watch Co. with 24 hour markings in red every 5 hours ? Would this be for a Canadian market ?
I guess this would be a 1903 production. How many prior years of production did this model have by this time?

Yes, Canada used the 24 hour dials as well as Mexico.


I guess this would be a 1903 production. How many prior years of production did this model have by this time?

According to "Lasser's List" (available through the NAWCC Book Store) the 940 was introduced in 1898 beginning with serial number 44001.
