Hello:
I've seen some very helpful posts here in the past relating to finish dates on 992s, and my latest 992 is the highest s/n standard 992 I own: 2,449,922.
Any idea when this was finished?:D

Junkhunter,
According to the Halligan/Gelson serial number list your movement was made in 1927.

In addition,
the run 2449001 to 2450000 went to finishing 2/4/1927
How is it cased?

Wow, you guys are the best!! Thanks!
It's in a model 3 case - I'm guessing it's original because of the source - hasn't seen the light of day in many years. I'll post a pic when I can.

Terry, if I may stick my head in the door, would you possibly have that information on when my 992 left the finishing room as well? I know it's a 1930 graduate from Hamilton, but nothing more.
Serial number 2580961
Thank you!

Run 2580001 to 2581000
entered the finishing room with two dates.. 7/4/1930 and 9/10/1930 ( i don't know why there are two dates... )
The finishing records show the date "to" finishing... no information is known about when the movement 'left' finishing. The movements before 824700 can be researched through the NAWCC Library as a member benefit to obtain the 'date finished' and 'date sold'...
The records do not exist for serial numbers above that level.
Junkhunter....
those model 3 cases are very nice in condition... look forward to a pic... or just the serial number in the case back.

Thank you very much, Terry!:)
Two dates, eh? VERY interesting indeed. Considering one was the 4th of July, maybe it was set aside for the Holiday, then came back to the bench in September.
HIGH regards !Mark

dunno..
it was Don that set me straight on the dates being 'entered' dates only and not 'in and out' dates.

Terry, Mark,
As I recall the two dates indicate that this single run was separated into two groups and sent to the "finishing Dept" at two different dates.
