I am just starting to troubleshoot the above model of a ladies Elgin pocket watch. I am more used to Walthams! How do I remove the winding stem? The mainspring seems at fault as you cannot get any tension into it by winding. Everything is turning OK. Mike:confused:

It's OK! I now realise that you don't need to remove the stem. DOH!

OK! I'm in and it's the mainspring that's broken so I'm on the hunt for one in the UK.
