I'm trying to identify this movement, it is currently housed in a salesman sample case and it appears based on no other hold down screw marks this was the original case.

It is a 16S, lever set, serial# 1736031, it looks exactly like a Model 4 except it is not a hunter movement and as you can see in the pics the click is on the opposite side of the barrel arbor based on pics I've seen of the Model 4.

any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hey guys, should have searched the forum first, I think I figured it out to be a Grade 176, 17j, adjusted to 4 positions, Getty Model....if anyone could confirm that it would be great.

It is a 16 size, 11 jewel, model 5 (Getty) grade 172. With Illinois, the even model numbers are hunters and the odd model numbers are open face.

Notice also that the center wheel is not jeweled, so it cannot be 17 jewels. Apparently the pillar plate is has no train jewels as well. You can only know this by looking up the serial number or taking off the dial.

It dates about 1905.
