What kind of information? Date? Repair? History of NY Standard? I never know how to answer this question.

This link (http://www.oldwatch.com/lancast.HTML) provides some information about the Lancaster Pennsylvania Watch Company.

Laura, Yes, it is true that the Lancaster Watch Co did make a model called the New Era, but the above watches were made by New York Standard watch Co in Jersey City, NJ.

New York Standard was in business from 1885 to 1929. They produced low grade jeweled watches which sold cheaper than most of their competitors. They were a step above a dollar watch. They were quite popular. There are no records extent for the company, but it is estimated that they sold over 10,000,000 watches.

Generally, watchmakers hated to work on them, so, many were just thrown away or put away when they quit.

In the thread:

Jersey City Appreciation Society (http://mb.nawcc.org/showthread.php?t=19253&highlight=Jersey+City+Appreciation&page=3)

that was started in 2002, there is some information on the serial numbers of New York Standards.

In one of the moves of the message board the original thread had to be reposted and the information is now in the second to last post in the thread.

Hope this helps.
