Kent was kind t point out where i can get a dial for a 946 hamilton 18s. they returned my email with a cost of 50 dollars for a new perceline arabic double sunk dial... if i exchange this new dial with the flat unsunk dial (from who knows where) it would obviously be an inprovement. but would it be worth the extra cost to find an original, or doesnt i t matter that much. thanks dave..

dave:
Personally, I think that $50 is a bit steep. But the alternative is to pay much more for either mint dial or even more than that for an 18-size Hamilton with a mint dial, swap the dials (not a preferred way of doing things) and sell the other watch. In both cases, you gotta get a double-sunk dial, or you still end up with a 946 with the wrong dial. If you get anything other than a mint dial, than you still end up with a 946 with a lesser dial on it.
