View Full Version : Hamilton Lever Set Rubbing Inside Case Lip
I have a Hamilton 17 Ruby Jewel 18 size lever set open face watch. It is housed in a Fahys 18 size GF open face case with cutout for lever. The problem is that when you screw the case lid shut you can feel it dragging as it finishes closing. When you look under the case above the threads there is a drag mark where apparently the tip of the lever is engaging the case lid. Lever doens't appear bent and watch is sitting properly in case. The lever has a pretty sharp point on the top edge. I think if I tipped it off with a file that it would take care of the problem but am reluctant to do so. Anyone else encountered this problem and any solutions appreciated. Thanks.

I would make sure that the lever spring is there and working so that the lever is being drawn into the movement to the correct degree.
The next thing I would want to know, is the case a common brand case or some off brand or case made for some other purpose than a standard 18 size lever set movment.
