Off topic/ Barometer repair

I did not know where to post this question. I did post it on the Misc. board but wasn't sure of the exposure it would get.

I do clock repair as a hobby. I have a complete shop setup so I think I have most of the tools necessary to repair barometers.

What I need is some books/instruction on this area. A friend has a Hermle barometer that fell off the shelf and doesn't give accurate data. He ask me if I could check it out.
