Kim,

You can look up production numbers on Elgin and Waltham watches. The Elgins are at elginwatches.org and the Walthams are at nawcc-info.org.

When you look up a serail number in the Elgin database it gives the production information. On nawcc-info.org, you need to use the Model and Grade report to get total production information.

Is the Rockford "MF Maley, Shenandoah" of Shenandoah, Pa?

I am not sure. The dial reads exactly like this (with the periods):

M.F. MALEY.
SHENANDOAH.

Basic information about a Rockford watch may be obtained online using Henry Burgell's Interactive Rockford Serial Number Lookup Table (http://www.nawcc-ch149.com/db_resch/rockford_1006.html).

We'd need to see a picture of: N. Robert, FA SR (or FS AR), R, 847129
It's probably a Swiss watch.

Good luck,

The following 3 pictures are of the N. Robert (one of the dial and two of the movement). Please don't be ticked off at the quality of my pictures!

Thanks!

It appears to be a modest movement, based upon its plain regulator and uncompensated balance.
