Asking for some help if anyone can help me. I just recently aquired a fine E. Howard & Co. 14k solid Gold size N "18" Hunter case pocket watch with the serial numbers of 208571
On the watch phob it states: presented to capt geo ingram by the employes of campion iron co as a token of respect may 20th 1891

a date, i am still trying to understand my used watch book so i am at the moment lost, umm # of jewels, grade, umm who ever the capt was? just the main info so when i put it away i have this info to store with it.
vandd4621:
Serial number data for E. Howard & Co. watches is available on Dave Chaplain's E. Howard Records Website (http://mywebpages.comcast.net/dchaplain/EH/E_Howard.htm). This has been extracted from original E. Howard factory record books donated to the Smithsonian Institution by Mr. Dana Blackwell, a former employee of the E. Howard Watch Co.
As for the Capt., you might try googling his name.
Good luck,

vandd4621,
Another web site you can look at is: http://www.pockethorology.org.
Here is a picture of a Champion Iron Co. tag. Maybe a workers ID tag. Also, I'm not sure if this Geo. Ingram is the same person your watch was presented to, but it is a photo of the Principals in the Haymarket Riot: Chicago, 1886. The top left is eo. Ingram, Attorney.
