I kind of like these. Once the poor step child in collecting Ball Watches they seem to be gathering steam and attention.
Any other weird variations?
Jeff
Thanks.

Jeff,
I have been collecting serial numbers a what little information I can get on the Illinois Ball size 12's, I have broken down the assumed 8,000 movements to 8 x 1000 runs as its easier to work with.
I have found that in that in the 2nd and 7th runs there are some secometer dialled watches that have the hour numbers on the bezel of the case instead of the dial.
Do you know if this is unique to ball size 12’s.

i love those secometer watches BAll did. I even am making some new ones.
As far as I know these were the only ones.
Anyone else?

Great thread Jeff and I'm looking forward to any 12s Ball photos to come.
The 12 size Waltham-Ball are interesting watches too.

Here is a 12-size Waltham Ball from the first production run of 1,000 movements. The serial number on the barrel bridge is B247376 but the Waltham production serial number is 18,247,376. These are typically in Crescent hinged cases with Ball Watch Co. - Clevelend marked on the dust cover. The Waltham contract preceded the contract with Illinois for 12-size movements.

Here is another dial variant for the Waltham Ball (12-size). I seem to see this dial and one or two others on watches from the second (and final) run of 1,000 movements.

Unlike the Waltham 12-size Ball the Illinois models did not have serial numbers within the standard Illinois production sequence. They had their own sequence of 8000 numbers. This example is the earliest I have seen (B400032) and has a case and dial typical of the first production. The Keystone J.Boss case is marked "Ball Model". The Christmas 1926 presentation date documents an earlier production start than initially postulated by Meggers.
