Latest Credit Squeeze

I was wondering if the members think that the latest Credit Squeeze will affect the price of pocket watches on the auction sites.
Living in Australia has made it a bit pricy to buy in the last couple of weeks but I’m sure there are people out there that will still buy regardless.
The Aussie dollar has dived over the past couple of weeks and now it is more and more expensive to buy quality.
I am interested to know if it has slowed buyers down and maybe dropped the prices of watches.

I would imagine that people will still buy.. just not as briskly as pre -"crash". There will always be buyers for quailty and those who like to "tinker" with timepieces. (IMHO)

I have to say I have become pickier and less likely to buy, watching my pennies as they say. Was informed that they are going to raise taxes here in Westchester County, NY next year, they are already almost unbearable, my wife works to pay just our taxes and mortgage, I work to pay for the rest, it is getting rediculous. 8 years ago I was doing alright, now, the prices are going up faster than my paycheck, I am working almost 14 hours a day at times to make ends meet.

At present the exchange rate is :- .78 cents AUD to USD.
and getting lower every day concidering 2 month ago we were almost level.

I will have to pick the watches very carefully as my dollar doesn't go as far these days.
