On some of these watches the hands are set by pulling the crown outward, holding it in that position and turning it counter-clockwise. I think I have a "Baby Ben" that sets that way.

People laugh and snicker at dollar watches and those that collect them; however, SOME major collectors collect them with vigor! Norm Tallon and John Fossette avidly collect them and the Col (George E. Townscend) wrote a very useful pamphlet on dollar watches. Well known collectors of the past such as Dr. Bundens, Dr. Ravel, Hill, Mathews and Dexter had great collections of dollar watches.

Some of the most collectible ones include those so marked/embossed from World Fairs. These are colorful and interesting and quite scarce in superb, undamaged condition. Early KW "jumbo" examples are also in great demand.

One of the very best things about these is that they are very collectible, reasonably priced, and watches that can be cherrypicked!

BOTTOM FEEDERS TAKE NOTICE!
