Hi, been a real long time since I have been here...hoping to have more pocket watch time again.

I am looking for information on the approximate weight, and gold content of the case referenced above. This case is an 18s and virtually new in appearance...no wear.

I don't have a scale that will weigh this accurately...any help is appreciated...

Approximatew weight, conversion factor for gold content, etc.

Thanks in advance to everyone.

Craig,
Assuming your entire case is 14K, you will have 58.3% pure gold or 24 K.

Craig,

I have seen 14k gold 18s cases weigh from around an ounce or just over up to one big slab that weighed almost 9 ounces. There is no way to tell without taking the movement out and weighing its. I hope you aren't doing this because you want to melt it. The fact is that, with gold at the price it is bringing right now, it is better just not to think about case weight when you have a really nice case. It will just drive you nuts. Most of the time you can't sell them for what the gold is worth unless you sell it to a melter.
