Hi Guys,
Well now I have done it, I just bought the watch that will help complete MY colection.
It is a series 10 Howard 21 jewel open face pocket watch.
I know this may sound boring to most but to me it is like finding gold.
I haven't recieve it yet but as soon as I do I will post the pictures after I give it a good clean and polish.
For those who have been watching my posts, I have been on a mission to get one of these watches and now I have one all be it in the post it is a great moment for me.
I have been learning to clean and service watches so this will proberly the first that I attempt to do by myself. Wish me luck.
Having collected mostly Waltham's and Hamilton railroad watches this is a departure from what I know and have been learning on, so to go all the way to this grade of watch is a big leap.
90% of the members here will think I'm a bit of a nut as there are a lot of better watches to go for so why go this way. I answer them by saying as in many posts on this forum, you go for what you like and would proudly wear. So until I get it in my hands here is the picture of the movement.

Congratulations, a fine watch. I started my collection a few years ago with a Series 10, and I still love it. Those jewels are something else and the movement looks really nice in hand. Yours has one thing mine didn't, the regulator whip spring. The watch repairman who cleaned it substituted a Hamilton spring, but I still have my eye out for a proper one. Mine's pendant set so not a RR watch, but keeps great time when I wear it (only for formal occasions, as it's my only solid gold cased watch).

Thanks Norman,
I think they are a great looking movement and well worth the price I paid.
Apparently it needs a bit of work to get it running properly but in the long run it will be worth it.
