I have an elgin pocket watch with a veritas 23j movement that was made in 1908. It has a Navy Battleship on the dial. This watch is very similar to the watch pictured on the cover of the complete price guide to watches 2007. The watch on the cover has the words "world cruise 1908" over the second hand. My watch has the word "Elgin" over the second hand, but it has the same battleship. I think these watches were to commemorate the Great White Fleet world cruise from 1908 to 1909. I'm wondering if anyone might have more information on these watches. Thanks in advance for any information you could provide.
