Is this an early railroad watch? Its quite large 64mm not including stem. It has a low grade swiss movement with a pin set. Any idea of the age?
Thanks,
Kenny

These large Swiss watches with bold numerals mostly date from around 1900 to maybe 1920.

They could have been used on short run European lines where the train control was from station clocks and pocket watches were just a convenience for the train crew. If the conductor checked his watch with each station clock, it only needed to be accurate to about 30 seconds in 15 minutes.

It is hard to make a watch that cannot meet that standard.
