1928 catalog shows the case as a Filmore design.
The dial seems to be a number 69.
note the 'fancy back' shown in the catalog page is extra charge.
This case appears in earlier catalog, but i could not find the dial in the earlier catalog.
production of grade 912 exceeds 200,000 .......

Well, somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but in Shugart, at least,
that serial number corresponds to about 1939, and I'm not aware
of any 912 grade made before then.
I have a 912 with a 1929 presentation inscription, and have always
assumed it was a newer movement in an older case, based on the
above.

I believe the factory catalog would give a better representation than a publication sooooo many years later... :)
And the Shugart dating is not that close....
other resources list the 912 grade being produced from 1923 to 1936.
But this grade is absent from a September 1936 catalog and price list.
In the DEcember 1923 Price list, it appears as a "NEW" model.... and is still shown in the 1935 catalog... but this case is not shown in the '35 catalog.

Serial numbers 3358001-3359000 went to the finishing department on 1/27/27 and 4/11/27. These are Hamilton records.
Grade 912 movements were moving quickly into the finishing department, so it is safe to assume they were going out fast as well. It is safe to assume that your watch was completed between February and May of 1927. That is the best we can date a Hamilton after they stopped keeping ledgers on each movement.

Now that could qualify as a *whopper* of a Shugart (et. al.)
misrepresentation. Attractive model, the 912, but not one I
bothered to research in any depth. (Well, I guess that's obvious
enough.)
Thanks for the heads up. What's the best readily available source
for accurate information on this model? Either online or published.

You may research as a membership benefit of the NAWCC thru the NAWCC Library. There are factory catalogs there, and much info.
There is also info for many subjects to be found in the archives HERE on this message board via the search function.
And you can ask... there are many that will share info.
When compared to factory records, there are many 'misses' in the serial number/date listing there for many grades.
