My Aurora Watch Co. 11 Jewel hunter case 18S pocket watch is in an ornate gold hunter case, that appears to have been stored a lot more than it was used. It is in very crisp condition, with very minor signs of light wear. The only manufacturer marking on the case is inside the cuvette, and consists of a flag on a pole, with a star on the flag (please see the photos below):

Does anyone know who the manufacturer of this case was, and anything else about this hunter case, such as the gold content, and, any years of warranty? Thanks.

Jerry

are you sure it is a makers mark. it looks like the white star line pennant.my late father in laws brother who was lost at sea ww11 had a watch with a similar mark and he worked for white star in the interwar period but thats all i can remember having only seen it once some 40 odd years ago. perhaps the memory only makes it look similar.

Jerry,

I have an example with the same mark.. covers are not worn much.. the covers on my example appears to be made of brass as ther is no gold fill left, even in the recesses of the engraving....Inner covers have a very thin coating of gold..

I have several--plated brass CASES, OF and HC.

Ehrhardt's TRADEMARKS book only shows one similar example....

it is a flag on a pole, flag looks similar.
there is a star in the flag, but above it is the word "GOLDEN"...

it is identified as a Dueber Case, but there is NO indication of the case material in the listing.

I appreciate everyone's input about my Dueber (case maker identified by Terry Hall) gold-plated hunter case. This information helps a lot.
