Now that Ed and I are submitting more Railroaders' Corner columns, we would appreciate your help. Pictures of dials, and especially the movements, of the following watches are needed for future columns.
18-size, B.W Raymond grades
No. 69 Plain Regulator, NOT marked "Adjusted"
No.69 Patent Regulator, marked "Adjusted"
No.70
No.27
No.77
No.116
No.180
No.183
No.184
16-size, 17-jewel, lever-set watches marked "Adjusted 5 Positions:
Waltham - Ball ORRS
Waltham - CPR
Waltham - CRTS
Elgin Grade No. 361
Elgin Grade No. 370
Longines Express Leader and/or other grades
Other Swiss watches that match the description (16S, 17J, LS, A5P)
We may need pictures of other watches that match the description, if in doubt, please ask, or if you already have taken pictures of the watch(es), send them anyway.
18-Size, 23-Jewel Waltham Vanguard with '23' for the number of jewels on a plug in the plate.
Should you wish to contribute, please take the picture(s) without the balance spinning. Dials are best photographed with the bezel off of the case. Pictures should be taken with the camera lens parallel to the movement plates or dial. If an angle is needed for the light to be right, try tilting the light source, not the watch.
Please don't crop with the camera lens. Concentrate on getting a sharp picture with a little of the background showing around the watch. Either Ed or I, or the Bulletin staff, will perform whatever cropping is desired. A jpeg file of about 150-300 Kb should work well. If it's larger (up to 3 Mb) that'll be fine. If it's less, but the best you can do, please let us see it anyway, we can judge how well it will reproduce when printed.
Picture files or questions can be sent to my email address (available by clicking on my name in the upper left-hand corner of this post and viewing my Public Profile). Naturally, all material submitted will be credited. Please be sure to let us know if your name or other information is to be kept confidential.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation,
