UBB code to me. I use roadrunner. My site is called fansrus. Can someone explain UBB code to me? I'm not the brightest bulb in the room. Yes, I've read the FAQ at the top of the site. I guess I just don't get it and the teckies at work don't either...

UBB is a simplified subset of HTML.

The tags you use most are for adding links and adding pictures.

Instead of the greater than, less than signs used in HTML, UBB uses square brackets.

I will use () instead of the square brackets in my examples so it will show up for you...

For links:

(url)http://websitename.com/pagename.html(/url)

For pictures:

(img)http://websitename.com/imagename.jpg(/img)

One thing that is not completely clear is that you can use the (img)urlofapicture(/img) ubb code as though it were the text in the hyperlink form. That is how I post most of my pictures. My web has both small and large versions of all my watch pictures. I put the small one in the message as a picture that is a hyperlink to the larger one. It is not really as complicated as it sounds.

(url=largepicture)(img)smallpicture(/img)(/url)

Large picture and small picture are the web address of the large and small picture, of course.

Another trick about UBB is that anyone is free to edit anyone else's message. You just can't save your edits. You can use this to look at the UBB code for an effect that you find interesting. Just click on the editing pencil.
