I have a french clock to repair that is missing the bell and pendulum.
Can anyone tell me the diameter and correct length of the pendulem and the diameter of the bell. On the back it has 1534 and 48. It has a circle with the name MEDAILLE DE BRONZE in a circle. Timesavers has 3 hooks listed. Which would be the correct one. Thanks for your help! :)

Hi tlw1344-
Based on the numbers you've provided, the pendulum length will be approximately 5". I'd suggest...
-Timesavers part no. 10221, which is 1 3/8" diameter, 2 1/2 oz bob with a partially threaded rod long enough for your needs.
-Part no. 12260 which is the top hook.
-The bell diameter is determined by the size of the movement but part no. 19337 would probably work. It is a 2 1/4" diameter bell.
Also, please realize your pendulum will need to be fit to the movement. The rod will need to be cut so the clock keeps time with the rating nut in the middle of the rating threads. And one end of the rod will need to be threaded to accept the hook. Unfortunately, you can't just cut the rod to 5" and expect it to work.
Good luck with it!

Hey Greg-
Tlw's original post mentions "48" which is the pendulum length in Pouce and Ligne. This translates to 4.97".
An article on the subject can be found Here (http://www.abouttime-clockmaking.com/downloads/French%20Clock%20Beat%20Rates2.pdf).
Hope that helps!
